"Let's Dance": EL VY Pays Tribute to David Bowie on 'Colbert'
Last we caught up with EL VY, the side project of the National frontman Matt Berninger, they were covering Fine Young Cannibals' "She Drives Me Crazy." On Monday night, they hit The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to pay tribute to another '80s bop, the dearly departed David Bowie's "Let's Dance."
EL VY were joined by Colbert's Jon Batiste–led house band, Stay Human, to turn it from a performance to a party. In addition to a montage of black-and-white images of Bowie through the years, the stage (and at least one keyboard) was emblazoned with the lyrics of the song. And how's the dude from the National's Bowie impression, you ask? Not too shabby!
EL VY dropped their debut album, Return to the Moon, in October.
