Dawn Richard's 'Honest' Is Silky Smooth
Dawn Richard is spilling her guts on "Honest," whether it's painful or not. The Kingdom-produced track has the former Danity Kane singer digging up all her lover's pitfalls and mistakes, only to admit that she's not over their breakup.
"I want to be next to you / Right next to you / I wanna be honest / I'm not over you," she sings at the song's climax, with cavernous synths gushing underneath her and a frenzy of drum beats running races to symbolize the conflict in her emotion.
"Honest" is part of a bigger body of work with Kingdom. No word on when her upcoming Redemption, the follow-up to 2015's Blackheart and the end to her Heart trilogy, will see the light.
