FKA twigs Puts a Deadly Spin On "Video Girl"

Lethal injection gets a surreal, black-and-white treatment in the video for the single off the R&B singer's debut LP

FKA twigs might not be a household name yet, but the up-and-coming R&B eccentric is coming for you! She masterfully covered Sam Smith's heartbreaking "Stay With Me," she did her best Aaliyah in her Queen of the Damned-inspired "Two Weeks" video and most recently turned Google glass into an experimental dream with "Through Glass," an impressive stripped-down version of her single "Video Girl." The lady is back with the official video for her track, a slightly disturbing but mostly impressive clip documenting a man's lethal injection.

The video is filmed entirely in black and white, with our ingenue acting as a spectator. She stands on the controlling end of a two-way mirror as a man sits bound to a gurney. There are photographs of her behind him, alluding to an unhealthy obsession.

FKA twigs looks relieved but unsettled, quietly singing along to the track. When the song hits a break, the prisoner is injected and dies. He twitches his fingers with a final sign of life.

In the later half of the video, she busts out her impressive avant-garde dance moves, parading around the man's corpse. His skin begins to scale as she dances on top of him. At the very end, she feels remorse, shedding a single tear for the deceased.

Heavy stuff. Watch "Video Girl above.
