Brand New Perform First New Song in Over Half a Decade

The elusive Long Island combo surprise audience with a slab of schizophrenic punk

Brand New haven't released new music for over half a decade, but at their tour stop last night at Denver's Fillmore Auditorium, the beloved rockers blessed the crowd with a special treat. The Long Island outfit opened their headlining set with "Don't Feel Anything," a previously unheard song. Featuring a jittery tempo and berserk guitar lines, the song gives off a schizophrenic punk feel that calls to mind Brainiac and Unwound. Here's another camera's view of the performance:

It's an exciting time for Brand New fans as the group seems to be back in work mode. These next two weekends finds them performing at Coachella and touring throughout North America with dates including bands like Built to SpillManchester Orchestra, and Circa Survive.

In addition to their live dates, Brand New also got active again on their Instagram account again and finally sent out the lyric books for their The Devil and God Are Raging Inside of Me album that they promised all the way back when the record dropped in 2006.

While they haven't announced news about any new album yet, their recent actions have given long-suffering Brand New fans hope.
