Desaparecidos Premiere Punk–Flavored "City on the Hill" Video

The Conor Oberst–headed post-hardcore outfit return with a monster riff in tow

Desaparecidos have released a new video for "City on the Hill," a track from their forthcoming sophomore album, Payola. Coming over a decade after 2002's critically acclaimed Read Music/Speak Spanish LP, Payola will be the band's first release through Epitaph Records, a label that also features Alkaline Trio, Every Time I Die and Converge.

The punk rock–flavored clip for "City on the Hill" is comprised of clips from television news programs, advertisements and movies. Direction came from Rob Soucy, whose résumé includes videos from Azealia Banks and Set It Off.

Payola won't arrive in stores till June 23, but Desaparecidos fans might want to jump on this "Deport Conor Oberst" shirt the band just put up for pre-order on their website. The front of the tee features Cursive's Tim Kasher, a longtime friend and collaborator of Oberst. If you were lucky enough to catch Desaparecidos' Coachella set this weekend, you saw Oberst wearing the shirt on stage.
