The Wonder Years Share Heartbreaking New Song & Video, "Cardinals"

Get a first taste of the band's upcoming LP, 'No Closer To Heaven,' out September 4

Everyone's favorite pop-punk band of recent history, the Wonder Years, are back with new music and we're all going to be better because of it. Their last album, The Greatest Generation, hit where it hurts (and loves?) the most, so here's hoping the upcoming No Closer to Heaven—out September 4—will be just as emotionally crippling.

Around 12:00 AM this morning the Pennsylvania band shared a new song, "Cardinals," accompanied by a moving music video.

In it, frontman Dan Campbell struggles to carry a seemingly unconscious drummer Mike Kennedy through a mostly deserted suburban street. When he nears the middle of the road, an ambulance is seen a few feet ahead of him. He runs to it and the vehicle pulls away. Pretty powerful stuff.

Peep it above, then watch the band perform exclusively for Fuse and chat about their last album on Warped Tour.
