Jess Glynne Talks Being Inspired by Her Life Journeys

Hanging out at West Hollywood's legendary Troubadour, Jess Glynne spoke to FM about the artists who influenced her growing up and how she approaches the music writing process.

Hailing from North London, Glynne grew up on Aretha Franklin and Sting—thanks to her parents—before later gravitating toward acts like Lauryn Hill and Amy Winehouse. Along with a diverse taste in genres, she also draws inspiration from life's stories as they come and go.

"My life is what inspires me—the journeys I go on, the people I meet, the people around me. That inspires me to record and make music," the 26-year-old says. "When I go into the studio, it's different every time what's going through my mind."
