Léon Recalls 'Scary' Experience of Putting Music on Soundcloud Before Label Deal: FM First Interview

Like any aspiring singer might, Léon hoped that a record label would be the one to break her music. But when those plans didn't exactly work out initially, our new FM First artist took matters into her own hands and went down the "scary" route of uploading her music on the Internet after being convinced by her producer-collaborator Agrin Rahmani.

"You wish someone will be like, 'Okay, we're signing you! We're taking this to the next level!" the Swedish singer-songwriter tells us when we meet her at the Crosby Street Hotel in Soho. "But that didn't happen. Agrin actually said after many months of making material that I should put out a song on Soundcloud. It was scary to put out something because I never put out anything, but after the first day we had like 500 plays. And after five days, we had a lot of people starting to contact us. I couldn't believe it."

The risk seems to be working out in her favor as rising hit "Tired of Talking" continues to make buzz as one of fall's most exciting new songs
