Bamboozle 2012: Marianas Trench On Co-Writing Carly Rae Jepsen's Hit Song
Vancouver, BC, outfit Marianas Trench chatted with Fuse this weekend at Bamboozle Fest in Asbury Park, NJ, and singer-producer Josh Ramsay told us about working with fellow Canadian (and MMVA nominee) Carly Rae Jepsen on her song "Call Me Maybe."
"I think with any hit song, you do the best you can, and you write a good song, then it comes down to luck. Justin Bieber tweeting about it is really what did it. It was a good song on top of that, but I don't kid myself..."
"We've already done the next [collabo song]," he says of working with Rae again. But will their next track match the last's success? "Ask Bieber," he jokes.
Marianas Trench also told Fuse about their worst wrecks while skateboarding ("I had a bail in front of 100 people!") and their new music video for "Desperate Measures," for which the band requested fans to make dolls resembling each band member. "We thought we'd get 25 or 30, but we got like a 1,000." Watch above.
Don't miss Marianas Trench on the MuchMusic Video Awards, airing live on Fuse, Sunday June 17, 9p/8c.
