After earning his second Top 5-charting EP with the stunning Wild — which got a Taylor Swift co-sign — Troye Sivan isn't slowing down a super-hot 2015 and will release his debut full-length album before year's end. The Australian YouTube star's Blue Neighbourhood drops on Dec. 4, and is led by a new single "Talk Me Down."
Sivan's latest was premiered live on Beats 1 radio and builds upon the formula heard in Wild standouts like "Bite" and its title track. "Talk Me Down" opens with Troye's youthful pillow talk backed by minimal, electronica production for the first verse and chorus. But the tracks soon evolves and brings a mix of orchestral strings and pounding drum machines that recalls some of Lana Del Rey's work. That latter point shouldn't come too surprising given Emile Haynie (who produced Del Rey songs like "Born to Die" and "Dark Paradise) co-wrote the track alongside Sivan and fellow alt-pop star Allie X.
If not just for the fact the 20-year-old has successfully transitioned from YouTube to legitimate songwriter, "Talk Me Down" further proves that Troye is one to watch in 2015.
While there's little details on Blue Neighourhood, Sivan previously confirmed that past singles "Happy Little Pill" and "Wild" will both appear on the upcoming LP.
