Youth Lagoon Calls It Quits

Another blow to indie rock—Youth Lagoon is no longer.

The moniker of Boise indie rocker Trevor Powers posted a lengthy note on Twitter, outlining his departure from music while announcing a tour in support of his LP from last year, Savage Hills Ballroom.

Powers wrote, "I am bringing down the curtains, brothers & sisters. There is nothing left to say through Youth Lagoon. It will exist no more." He's not done with music forever, however. He added, "There is so much left to say, but it will not be through Youth Lagoon. This is far from the end of my undertakings/it is the beginning."

Youth Lagoon released three albums, beginning with 2011's critically acclaimed The Year of Hibernation. Read the full note above, then flip through our list of 13 artists to discover in 2016 (and their highly anticipated albums!)
