Penguin Prison's "Calling Out" has more than 3 million streams on Spotify and Soundcloud, but you've never heard the exuberant single like this. The New York singer/producer took the track inside a Moscot glasses shop (a.k.a. New Yorkers' go-to place for vintage frames) for a performance not likely to be repeated any time soon. Enjoy the video exclusively on Fuse.
Penguin Prison (né Chris Glover) toned down his electro-pop production and pushed live guitars and percussion into the spotlight for this one. Instead of the usual light show you can expect seeing Penguin on tour or at a festival, you get a busy New York City street and some random passersby.
Penguin Prison had this to say about the performance and future live performances:
We had a great time playing this intimate show at the Moscot store on the Lower East Side in New York.
We will be going on tour this month with the full band so people should come to see us if they want to have a fun time. We might even play a cover of Lionel Richie's "All Night Long!"
If you're digging what you see, you can check out Penguin Prison on the road this summer. Peep his tour dates below and then take another listen to the original "Calling Out" at the bottom.
